XL Murrine Wafers – 90COE

 18.06

These are made from our XL murrine which are pulled much larger than normal murrine varying in size from 10-18mm in diameter. As soon as we have pulled them from the Vitrigraph kiln we put them directly into another kiln for a 4 hour anneal. They are then made into these XL wafers which are anywhere from 15mm-30mm.  Using a unique process created by Tabitha Burrill at Tabitha’s Glass Emporium we can now make these detail murrine patterns reminiscent of millefiori at a very affordable price. The wafers are sandblasted after coming out of the kiln to remove all the residue kiln wash and thin fire, they will need to be refired to make them shiny again, do not go hotter than 730C or 1345F to keep them as thin as possible. All made with 100% Bullseye Glass 90COE. They can be purchased in wafer thin slices in 25g  = just under 1oz bags.  As with all murrine made using a vitrigraph kiln, you will get different canes and chips from different part of the whole pull.
