XL Murrine Wafers – Red Poppy Flowers 5 pieces – 90COE

These XL wafers come from our exclusive XL murrine, a technique pioneered by Tabitha Burrill at Tabitha's Glass Emporium. Unlike regular murrine, we pull our XL murrine to larger sizes, ranging from 30-50mm in diameter. After pulling them from the vitrigraph kiln, we anneal them for four hours to ensure strength and stability. Then, we carefully shape them into XL wafers resembling poppy flowers, measuring 15mm to 40mm. These red poppy XL murrine wafers add the perfect finishing touch to your artwork.

To maintain their quality, we sandblast each wafer to remove kiln wash and thin fire residues. This process gives them a dull appearance at first. However, a controlled refiring at no more than 730°C (1345°F) restores their shine while preserving their thinness. Our red XL murrine wafers can be a beatiful addition to your artwork.

Each XL wafer is meticulously handcrafted from 100% Bullseye Glass with a COE of 90.
