XL Murrine – Mix Rainbow Colour Transparent Shapes – 90COE

These XL murrine are pulled much larger than normal murrine varying in size from 10-18mm in diameter. As soon as we have pulled them from the Vitrigraph kiln we put them directly into another kiln to anneal. They are so thick that we have to cut them on the tile saw, we suggest that you dust them with a light coating of clear powder before firing.

Using a unique process created by Tabitha Burrill at Tabitha’s Glass Emporium we can now make these detailed murrine patterns reminiscent of millefiori at a very affordable price. All made with 100% Bullseye Glass 90COE. They can be purchased in approximately 4-6mm slices in either 25g or 1oz bag of murrine slices.  The photograph of the unfired slices shows a 25g sample. As with all murrine made using a vitrigraph kiln, you will get slices from different parts of the whole pull including hollow canes, they will all be different and some with have less pattern in them, this is how we make them so affordable and is also part of the ethos at TGE to try and have as little waste as possible as we think you can do something great with all parts of the pull whilst doing our bit for the planet.
